  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cups mushrooms sliced, cremini or button
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp dried thyme or fresh parsley for garnish
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce or balsamic vinegar optional

Instructions
 

Step 1: Prep the Mushrooms

  • Clean mushrooms using a damp paper towel (avoid rinsing under water to prevent sogginess).
  • Slice mushrooms evenly for consistent cooking.

Step 2: Heat the Pan and Sauté Garlic

  • Heat butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

Step 3: Cook the Mushrooms

  • Add the mushrooms in a single layer and let them cook undisturbed for 2-3 minutes to develop a golden crust.
  • Stir occasionally and cook for another 5-7 minutes until tender and golden brown.

Step 4: Season and Finish Cooking

  • Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and dried thyme.
  • Optionally, add soy sauce or balsamic vinegar for extra depth of flavor.
  • Stir and cook for another minute.

Step 5: Serve and Enjoy

  • Remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley.
  • Serve immediately as a side dish, on toast, or with pasta.
