- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract optional but recommended
Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine peanut butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla (if using). Stir until a smooth dough forms.
Shape Dough: Roll tablespoon-sized portions of dough into balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Flatten each ball slightly with the back of a fork in a crisscross pattern.
Bake: Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set and slightly golden.
Cool: Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
-
Make Them Chewy or Crunchy: If you prefer a chewier cookie, bake for a slightly shorter time. For a crispier texture, extend the bake time by 1-2 minutes.
-
Storage Tip: Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. You can also freeze the dough balls for a quick treat later!
